Project Overview

Professional Systems Engineering, LLC provided survey, design, and documentation services for Security Systems at Torrance State Hospital. Torrance State Hospital is a mental health hospital providing both inpatient and outpatient services including specialized programs for Forensic, Sexual Offenders, Juvenile, and Substance Abuse. The facility includes multiple buildings situated on a 376-acre campus in the foothills of Chestnut Ridge, a rural area 45 miles east of Pittsburgh. PSE’s design upgrades the existing limited video surveillance system from analog video system to IP-based security camera system. The project expands the video coverage to include exterior coverage of the grounds via building mounted PTZ cameras, provides full interior coverage of the main 4 patient buildings, updates the central campus control room, provides new monitoring stations in each building as well as provides local workstation in each areas nurse station. The project also provide new fiber backbones to support the network bandwidth required by the video system but will also support future network centric security applications.
