Advanced Educational Technologies
PSE’s principle objective is team colaboration to incorporate the best technical requirements available and partner on its implementation to meet highly competitive budgets. PSE’s staff has the experience and skill sets in networking, data management, communications, audio/visual/video, acoustics, and noise and vibration control engineering to manage single classroom renovations, entire college or corporate upgrades.
PSE’s experience includes large digital infrastructures, designs of server rooms, intrusion protection/firewall systems, noise and vibration control, multi-media management, high definition visual displays, paging, public address, mass evacuation, and distance learning, as well as preparing specifications and detailed contract documents for bid or installation.
Converging Technologies
The convergence of these technologies requires a firm with a wide diversity of talent, as well as a deep level of experience to provide targeted specifications, reports, contract documents, and studies to create a sustainable communication platform across educational, corporate, and agency levels. We have the capacity to provide comprehensive services and complete documentation including single study, report, or schematic design through full documentation and commissioning.
Expanding Personal Communication Environment
The expanding personal communication environment needs to be continuously addressed. The continuous uprooting of bandwidth by social networks and higher technologies on platforms as diverse as web browser, PDA, messaging, and newer personal communication methods requires meeting a challenge that is a moving target. Centralizing your consulting and design capabilities into PSE’s staff provides cost efficiencies and tangible benefits directly to the shareholders’ and stakeholders’ bottom line.
Acoustics, Noise, and Vibration Control
PSE is in its second decade of providing diverse consulting, design, engineering services in association with architectural acoustics and noise and vibration control for critical spaces. Our depth of expertise includes colleges, universities, highly industrial sites, military as well as cultural venues.
Our designs are complete with infrastructure and sophisticated control systems well-suited to their specific academic setting and individual program needs. Our portfolio includes developing prototype system designs featuring the latest educational technologies for district-wide implementation.
We work direct with individual school districts and their representatives, architects, project primes, government agencies, and allied design professionals. Ambitious assignments include many school districts Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and universities such as Rutgers, Penn State, Temple, Drexel, and University of Pennsylvania, and museums such as Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts (PAFA), Clay Center for Arts and Sciences of West Virginia, and The Holocaust Museum in Washington DC.
Innovative Leaders
PSE is known for solutions-oriented, out-of-the-box design as reflected in our project history including:
- Design of complete state-of-the-art systems for security and information technologies for district-wide implemented in Plainfield and Jersey City School Districts, both NJ SDA programs.
- Swarthmore College’s $11 million classroom expansion featuring an impressive touch screen controlled, MAC/PC networked group learning lab with both individual progressive learning and full data/video class learning.
- Temple University’s $25 million classroom expansion with advanced infrastructure serving data/telecom/voice/music/video media transmission. Our hybrid solution served special music instruction, computer labs, math labs, and a media center.
- Philadelphia School District’s JFK Center TV recording/broadcast studio and Germantown High School TV/radio training center.
- School security assessment and designs for Union County Community College campuses, University of Pennsylvania, Rutgers, Lincoln University, and Chester County High School in Pennsylvania.
Communications and Related Technologies
Information Technologies specialties include tele/datacom, and cabling infrastructure, wireless 802.XXy LAN/WAN design, and integrated voice/recording and processing systems. Additionally, we provide complete A/V/V and multimedia distribution systems for academic spaces including computer classrooms, science labs, multi-media rooms, theaters, labs, and other areas. Experience includes video, data and RF head-end electronic design, media retrieval systems, and distance learning rooms for districts and colleges throughout the region.
Security Solutions
As a leader in security engineering and consulting, PSE has completed many programs for educational facilities and for clients with critical security and protection requirements including prisons and nuclear plants. Our expertise extends to CCTV surveillance systems, building access control systems, and security communications. Designs include digital technology, vandal proof equipment, video-over-twisted-pair, control room design, on-site/off-site digital video monitoring network browser based viewing, video archiving and case evidence formats, wireless and radio communication technologies, biometric card access systems back-up, clean power systems, and detection systems (motion, metal, glass, etc).
Single Technologies Source
By having PSE address multiple technologies, such as telecom, security, and A/V/V, we offer significant client benefits such as reduced design fees, better overall project coordination, minimized contracting issues, and reduced construction costs made possible by coordination of pathways, cabling, equipment rooms, and technology purchasing. Many successful examples appear in our project listing.
NJ SDA Pre-Qualification
PSE is pre-qualified with NJ SDA in fourteen disciplines effective thru November 2011 including an unlimited rating in acoustics, communications, security, fire detection systems, fire protection systems, estimating/cost analysis, value engineering, and feasibility planning. The firm has a $15 million rating in electrical engineering, fire protection, fire and life safety renovations, and construction management.
