Prison Security becomes an important international concept.

High-ranking prison officials from China’s Sichuan Province visited University of Georgia’s renowned Carl Vinson Institute of Government, Georgia for a first-time U. S. training/educational opportunity.

The Deputy Commissioner and prison officials from Sichuan Province paid a visit to US justice practitioners, the Carl Vinson Institute of Government, and Georgia’s Department of Corrections (DOC) to participate in learning sessions devoted to prison technology and security.

These 100 high ranking corrections officials from one of the largest provinces in China (population – 42.33 million) came to Georgia for a first-hand look at how the US justice/corrections systems work. One important element of the program was to examine how Chinese citizens in the justice system are adjudicated and remanded into the prison custody system as compared to the United States system.

Mr. G. I. Forstater, PE, Principal-In-Charge conducted an educational program devoted to medium and maximum correctional technologies highlighting the latest electronic and perimeter security and surveillance systems. Georgia’s DOC and the Institute report that, “reception to ideas and the specialized resources and experts provided made this a successful learning experience for the Sichuan delegation.”
