CANVAS®
PSE designed and wrote this DOS-based program for applications in the acoustical field. CANVAS®, an acronym for Computerized Analysis of Noise, Vibration, Acoustical and Sound, provides analysis over the full hearing range of reverberation, sound transmission loss and articulation. The program reviews important features, which ensure proper acoustical design for spaces, and determines product quality. The program yields high resolution.
FIRENET
This program calculates the hydraulic pressures and demand required for sprinkler systems that have been designed to comply with the hydraulic calculation requirements of NFPA 13 and BOCA codes. This powerful program enables us to confirm that designs will be based on sound engineering for the proposed application.
PC-40 Analysis
The PC-40 is a tremendous acoustical measuring tool which, years ago, amounted to over $40,000 in acoustical instrumentation. It would have required housing in an entire van to support its weight and dimensions. Today, the PC-40 is a portable acoustical computer weighing less than 15 pounds. It is battery operated, self-contained, and fits in a briefcase. This powerful tool enables us to measure and record reverberation time and frequency response. The PC-40 also allows us to evaluate sound transmission losses through partitions in a fundamental, useful manner. Subsequently, the curves are transported in memory to other special programs that analyze data correlating to standard NC curves for further analysis. Our resultant studies determine realistic solutions and practical applications of specific acoustical materials and structural elements in buildings.
